SINCE 1873

The Winchester Opera House was built in 1873 by James D. Simpson, the first Mayor of Winchester. The Opera House was the mayor’s gift to the city to be utilized as a cultural center for the performing arts. It hosted Opera, Off Broadway Productions, Classical Concerts and Community galas. The majestic building was purchased by Edward and Vanessa Ziembroski in 2001. The Ziembroski’s have meticulously renovated the facility to become one of the Premier Historic venues here in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky. The Ziembroski’s have been awarded recognition in Historic Preservation as well as the Downtown business enhancement award for the City upon completion of The Ballroom and Gallery. The Winchester Opera House has been the recipients of awards from Martha Stewart Weddings, Wedding Wire Couples Choice Awards in 2014, 2016 & 2017 as well as The Knot Best of Weddings in 2013. In addition to historic renovation Vanessa Ziembroski has also received awards and accolades for her support of the arts in Music, Theatre and Visual Arts.
